Singer, by Shaunalee – This piece has been rust-printed with an antique iron gate from Egypt. The Singer label across the front was printed from an old Singer sewing machine on silk organza. And then, as Shaunalee noted, it needed a “singer” so she added Pacific North West song birds perched on a fence. The base garment was a “never used” flat linen sheet which was dyed, rust printed, then appliqued with the silk print and then the addition of a stenciled bird. All the pieces were then sewn together to become a summer dress.
